Let's Talk About Security Switches

There is a device in your windows that allow your security system to know if a window is open or being broken into. Do your windows have a quality switch? Are your switches broken, malfunctioning, or easily manipulated? Most people cannot answer these questions.

There is a type of switch known as the Reed switch. These were invented in the 1930's and are one of the most common used in homes. There are three major problems with these switches, first of all is they can be manipulated by vandals using a simple magnet. An intruder can hold the switch up to a single Reed switch from outside of a home and enter undetected! Another problem is that if the switch comes into contact with high voltage from lightning, power surges, or stun guns, the switch can be welded into the "armed and secure" state rendering it useless. The final issue is that the Reed switch is encased in glass leaving it vulnerable and easy to break.

Magnasphere offers a better solution. There sensors are virtually unbeatable and unbreakable. The Tough Tek Metals Magnasphere switches are encased in metal, not glass. They are not able to be disarmed with magnets from inside or outside the home. And they are resistant to contact welding from high voltage situations. These switches have universal mounting and are cost competitive.

Why let a small device smaller than a dime, make your home vulnerable. Be safe and ask for a quality security switch to be installed in your window!
